I’m Eric Picard, the writer and artist. I live in Newport, RI with my wife Erynn in a home called The Conservatory that was built as a Livery Stable in 1680.
In a former life, I was a commercial boat captain, SCUBA diver, and Lighthouse Keeper. For the last twenty five years I have been a serial entrepreneur and technology leader at various companies. I’ve started four companies myself, two of which were acquired. I’ve advised a whole slew of startups and other companies. I’ve also worked at some large companies like Microsoft, Pandora Music and BarkBox, and a few others that you probably haven’t heard of.
I have degrees in History and Fine Art from the University of Rhode Island, and an MFA from the University of Cincinnati.
I’m a husband, a father, a technology catalyst, an artist and a writer. I love spending time on, in and under the water, and I try to walk for exercise every day.
